The 13 major US potato states held 67.4 million cwt of potatoes in storage June 1, 2019, up 6 percent from June 1, 2018. Potatoes in storage accounted for 16 percent of the fall storage States' 2018 production, the same percentage as the previous year. University of California Riverside is testing whether a tiny wasp can control a pest that could seriously damage California crops including wine, walnuts and avocados. The pest, a sap-sucking spotted lantern fly, is originally from China and was first detected five years ago in Pennsylvania. Slight dip in exports for citrus from Chile expected in 2019

Total clementine citrus exports from Chile in 2018 were estimated to be at 52,000 metric tons, and at the end of 2018 they ended up being 63,198 MT, up 54 percent from 41,000 metric tons in 2017, according to the Chilean Citrus Committee.
